Another image from the Dumbarton series. Strongly evocative for me of the weird light and mirage-like images all over this little corner of the Bay.

The shot wouldn't work nearly as well if it was symmetrical -- that post in the lower right really makes the difference, really breaks the purity in ways that the shot needed. Of course I didn't see the post when I took this shot -- I was in a hurry, and, typically, thought that this shot was a throw-away compared to some of the more meticulously-composed versions I took earlier in the same session.
